Toshiki Ozono is a certified traditional craftsman of Kamakura carved lacquerware (Kamakura-bori) with over 30 years of experience. While creating refined pieces, he also devotes himself to teaching the techniques of carving and urushi lacquering.

Held solo and group exhibitions at venues such as Nihombashi Takashimaya, Ginza Matsuya, Hakata Daimaru, Hiroshima Fukuya, Kyoto Konishi, and Hankyu Department Store.
Participated in the Japan Craft Exhibition (Sapporo, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and other locations).
Exhibited internationally in cities including San Francisco, Barcelona, and Toledo.
Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University.

1958 Born in Kamakura
1979 Studied under visual artist Juichi Saito
1982 Studied under sculptor Hirosuke Sato
1983~1990 Took over the family business and trained in woodworking, lacquerware, and carving at the Ozono Lacquer Workshop
1984~ Began teaching Kamakura carved lacquerware to enthusiasts (later forming the Enchokai group)
1990 Established "Ozono," a woodworking, lacquerware, and Kamakura carved lacquerware gallery workshop
2004 Certified as a Traditional Craftsman of Kamakura carved lacquerware
2005 Founded the lacquer studio "Seijuan" at the foot of Mt. Kamakurayama
2010 Served as a juror for the Japan Craft Exhibition

1983~  Received over 20 awards including the Grand Prize and the Governor’s Prize at the Kamakura Carved Lacquerware Creative Exhibition
1987~  Selected and awarded in various national exhibitions such as the Takaoka Craft Competition, Asahi Contemporary Craft Exhibition, Itami Craft Exhibition, and the National Lacquerware Exhibition
1995~ Selected more than ten times for the Japan Craft Exhibition
1997 Awarded the Excellence Prize at the Japan Craft Exhibition
2000 Won the Silver Prize at the Contemporary Kamakura Carved Lacquerware Competition
2008 Honored as an Excellent Skilled Artisan by the City of Kamakura
Certified as an Excellent Kamakura Carved Lacquerware Artisan
2009 Received the Encouragement Prize at the Japan Craft Exhibition
