Yume Kobayashi小林由芽
I create works using a unique technique called shiki-shoku-joumon.
I created this technique based on my aspiration to express the techniques used in Jomon earthenware and clay figurines in a modern way. I apply thin coils of pigmented clay to my works which are made by hand-forming or slab building, and draw patterned designs and landscapes with three-dimensional effects by pressing down on them every few millimeters with a bamboo tool.
